Spacemetric started as a spinoff from SSC Space with the idea to commersialise the production environment used in Kiruna by SSC Space.
First orthoimage production workstation
May 2001
SIP/Ortho was a workstation with integrated satellite orthoimage production. It was developed by Spacemetric to meet Metria’s operational requirements. The Metria Satellite Image Facility in Kiruna was part of the National Land Survey of Sweden.
First Orthoimage Server
July 2003
Spacemetric developed a Web Map Server (WMS) for the European Space Agency’s Multi-Mission Catalogue (MUIS) for satellite imagery. The server was developed in a contract won in stiff competition.
Real Time Satellite Imagery
Sep 2004
Spacemetric was part of the Netherlands Ministry of Defence Force’s project Ground Support for Imagery Operations, GISMO.
Keystone image server was born
Oct 2004
SSTL launched the first generation of DMC satellites in 2002-2003 generating multispectral imagery with 32-meter ground sample distance. Spacemetric delivered the first version of Keystone image server to support high quality ortho production.
